Zatoka Beaches Review 2026: Infrastructure, Prices and Where to Swim
Zatoka boasts over 20 kilometers of continuous sandy beaches. It would seem that the sand and the Black Sea are the same everywhere. But experienced tourists know that the beaches at the beginning of the spit are fundamentally different from the beaches at its end. We analyze all the secrets of the Zatoka coast in 2026: where the water is cleaner, where sunbeds are cheaper, and where to go for beautiful photos.
1. Beach Geography: From Shallows to Waves
The coast of Zatoka is conventionally divided into three zones, which correspond to the areas of the resort.
Limanska Zone (Lymanska, Karolino-Buhaz stations)
- Sand: Fine, very light, almost white.
- Bottom: Perfectly flat, gently sloping. The sea is the shallowest here (you need to walk 40-50 meters to reach depth).
- Water: Because of the shallow water, the sea warms up the fastest here. It is already comfortable to swim with children in June.
- Feature: In the morning, dolphins very often swim up to the shore, causing delight among vacationers.
Soniachna Zone (Druzhba, Soniachna stations)
- Sand: Golden, with fine shells closer to the water.
- Bottom: Dynamic. Depth starts after 10-15 meters.
- Water: This is a real open sea. There are often medium-sized waves, which is ideal for jumping in the water and board riding.
Central Zone (Buhaz station)
- Sand: Yellow, large rapana shells can be found.
- Bottom: Convenient entry, optimal depth.
- Feature: This is the epicenter of civilization. If at Limanska you see only sea and sand, here the beach is packed with cafes, bars, and attractions.
2. Infrastructure and Prices 2026
In 2026, wild recreation on towels is gradually becoming a thing of the past (although free zones are absolutely everywhere). Most tourists prefer comfort.
Rent of sunbeds and umbrellas: A few years ago, sunbeds were a luxury, now they are placed all along the coast.
- In the Central District (the most passable) renting a set (sunbed + umbrella + mattress) will cost from 200 to 300 UAH per day.
- In the Limanskyi and Soniachnyi districts, prices are more democratic — from 100 to 150 UAH.
- Many first-line hotels (including ours) provide their guests with sunbeds for free. This is significant savings for a family on a week-long vacation!
Beach entertainment:
- Banana boat ride: about 200 UAH per person.
- Parasailing behind a boat: from 1500 UAH for two (incredible views of the spit from above are guaranteed).
- Jet ski rental: from 700 UAH for 5 minutes.
- Inflatable slides for children: 100-150 UAH for a half-day unlimited pass.
3. Water Cleanliness and Sea "Blooming"
The main fear of tourists is a green sea with algae. In Zatoka, this problem is much less pronounced than in Odesa. Because Zatoka is open sea (and not a closed bay, as the name implies in Russian), the currents are stronger here, and the water is renewed faster.
"Blooming" (reproduction of microalgae) usually occurs in mid-August during prolonged heat over +35°C and the absence of storms. If you got caught in such a period — do not be upset. It is enough to walk 1-2 kilometers along the beach towards the open sea (Soniachnyi district), and the water will become clear again. Or spend time by a clean pool on the hotel grounds.
4. Unspoken Rules of Zatoka Beaches
- Take your spots early: In the peak of the season (July-August) on the Central beach, places right by the water run out by 8:30 am. In the Limanskyi district, the beaches are so wide (up to 150 meters) that a place can always be found.
- Beware of the sun: Zatoka is famous for a light sea breeze that masks the heat. Getting a sunburn here is very easy. Do not skimp on umbrellas and creams.
- Food on the beach: Legendary baklava, corn, and shrimp have not disappeared. But for stomach safety, we recommend buying food only in stationary cafes and not taking perishable products from hand vendors in the heat.
